I get the message ‘This installer is intended to be deployed only on an AMD system. Exiting installation as the requirement is not Satisfied’ when I am trying to install the driver. This is after uninstalling the the version 2.01.15.2138 which still will install fine on the system. I am running an ASUS ROG STRIX X399-E GAMING mobo and AMD Threadripper 2950X processor.

Can anyone please suggest how to solve this issue?

Try using Microsoft Installer/Uninstaller Troubleshooter to uninstall and install the latest version of the CHIPSET. It has helped other Users to install AMD CHIPSETs in the past. I have attached it to this post for you to download and use if you want.

Unfortunately Windows 10 is generating the exact same error message still. I am running Bios Version 1203 i.e. the latest BIOS. The question is what has changed in the installer executable from V 2.01.15.2138 which is working.

Did you utilize the Microsoft Troubleshooter?

NOTE: Before installing the latest CHIPSET driver make sure the following folder is deleted C:\AMD CHIPSET.

I have followed all the steps and still get the same error message from the installer implying It is not an AMD system.

What processor do you have installed?

I am running an AMD Threadripper 2950X.

I am really at odds on why an AMD CHIPSET will misidentify your motherboard as a Non-AMD Motherboard.

Personally sounds like some sort of corruption in your Windows Registry. just my opinion.

You mentioned a previous AMD CHIPSET installs correctly without any issues correct?

Then I suggest you leave the previous AMD CHIPSET installed for the time being until a new version of CHIPSET comes out that you might be able to install properly.

Meanwhile open a Online AMD Service Request (Official AMD SUPPORT) https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form and let them know the problems you are having. Maybe they seen this before.

Maybe amdmatt‌ or @Ray_M the Moderators here at AMD Forum has seen this before and knows a fix or work around.

I recently upgrade my pc, changing from intel CPU to the Ryzen 5 3600 with a new tomahawk B450 mobo. I was told to setup the power setting to «AMD Ryzen balance» and to do that, I need to install a chipset driver so I went on this link https://www.amd.com/en/support. I downloaded and install the ryzen master but after the message saying «Install successful» nothing is installed. I tried downloading the chipset but when run the file AMD_Chipset_Software.exe, there is a message «This installer is intended to be deployed onlyon an AMD system» and basically terminate the installation. I check with my device manager and see the new CPU, Ryzen, was listed as active processor. Does anyone have an idea on what I should do? Thank you in advance.

Seems to be a serious bug in the latest AMD CHIPSET.

Also I highly suggest meantime that you open an Online AMD Service Request (Official AMD SUPPORT) to let them know of this specific bug in the latest CHIPSET from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form

For the time being, Install the last previous CHIPSET that will install successfully until a fix is provided in the next CHIPSET driver set.

Details for anyone interested:

When installing AMD chipset software it complains that the system is not AMD. Turns out that error was misleading. For me it was a bad MSI path.

I had recently scrubbed tmp folders during PC cleanup in prep for Win 10 2004 update and thus removed old AMD installation media. New install would hang when it tried to uninstall individual components of old package because main MSI from old package was gone.

Main installer package calls several other packages during installation. All of these other MSI packages get a registry entry containing a removal string with the current package’s GUID that reference the main package’s GUID as the source.

Individual MSI packages were still available since Microsoft secretly stores all MSI locally in C:\Windows\Installer. I could issue MSI removal commands to individual MSI packages (such as GPIO) but ran into same removal issue due to missing source.

Ran MS tool on any failing MSI packages found above. For me it was Ryzen Balanced Power Plan and Chipset Drivers. Once corrected by the MS tool I rebooted & ran the main installer again. All packages installed & power plan is active.

Cannot update Windows 10. AMD Ryzen or AMD Ryzen Threadripper configured in SATA or NVMe RAID mode, this driver must be disabled.

To fix this issue, I have tried to follow the advice posted here:

However, when I try to install the AMD driver «amd_chipset_software_2.07.14.327», I can see an error message «the installer is intended to be deployed only on an AMD sytem».

As you may have an Intel based system check out my post in the following topic:

As the issue may be from a improperly imaged SSD a repair installation of Windows may fix the issue.

If doing a repair of Windows as a general precaution back up critical files beforehand.

I have followed your advice (ISO download) but I had the same error message as the one I got through the standard Windows online update.

I cannot install the May 2019 update of Windows 10 on my laptop because I run a certain version of AMD Raid driver.

The 2 drivers I have on my laptop are AMD-RAID Bottom Device and AMD-RAID Controller [storport] drivers. The are both up to date when I try to update both of them.

I’ve got an Aorus Master x570 motherboard (3900x processor) and I’m trying to install the new chipset driver off the website:

It’s a no go. As soon as I try to run it, I get a message saying:

Just tried that. Getting the same message when I try to install the one listed below also. I’ve even reinstalled Windows and getting this same message. I’m a little confused!

Also I think I’ve figured out my problem. The last few Windows installations I’ve done I’ve used sysprep to move where it creates the user folders from C:\users to d:\users.

In theory that should work. But I reinstalled without moving the folders and the chipset software installed. Did another install with the folders moved again and it fails. So I guess I need to decide if I really want the folder moved or if I want drivers.

Ошибки при установке программ из пакета Windows Installer «.msi»

Вообще, меня это жутко бесит, т.к. после глупого сообщения об ошибке совсем непонятно что делать дальше. Microsoft специально разработали установщик Windows Installer для расширения возможностей установки программ (в основном это касается системных администраторов), но не позаботились должным образом о безглючной работе этой службы или хотя бы об адекватных сообщениях о проблемах. А нам теперь это разгребать 🙂

Неполадки могут быть с работой самой службы или могут возникать в процессе установки программ, когда всё настроено, в принципе, правильно. В первом случае нужно ковырять службу установщика, а во втором решать проблему с конкретным файлом. Рассмотрим оба варианта, но сначала второй.

Ошибки msi файлов

«Error reading from file «имя файла» verify that the file exists and that you can access it» (Error 1305). Переводится «Ошибка чтения из файла … проверьте существует ли файл и имеете ли вы к нему доступ». Ну не тупняк ли? Естественно, что кнопка «Повторить» не помогает, а отмена прекращает всю установку. Сообщение особой смысловой нагрузки также не несёт, т.к. файл точно существует и я имею к нему доступ, иначе бы просто не смог его запустить и получить это сообщение, к тому же почему-то на английском языке 🙂

А ошибка в том, что не Я должен иметь доступ к файлу, а установщик Windows, точнее сама Система. Решается очень просто:

Теперь ошибка установщика не появится! Можно добавить доступ на всю папку, из которой вы обычно инсталлируете программы, например на папку «Downloads», как у меня. Смотрим видео по решению проблем с правами доступа:

Описанный метод поможет при разных сообщениях, с разными номерами. Например, вы можете видеть такие ошибки файлов msi:

Во всех этих случаях должна помочь установка прав на файл и/или на некоторые системные папки. Проверьте, имеет ли доступ «система» к папке временных файлов (вы можете получать ошибку «Системе не удается открыть указанное устройство или файл»). Для этого:

После нажатия «Enter» путь преобразится на «нормальный» и вы переместитесь в реальную временную папку. Права на неё и надо проверять. Также рекомендую очистить временные папки от всего что там скопилось или даже лучше удалить их и создать новые с такими же названиями. Если не получается удалить папку, почитайте как удалить неудаляемое, но это не обязательно.

Если служба Windows Installer всё равно не хочет работать, то проверьте права на папку «C:\Config.Msi», сюда «система» также должна иметь полный доступ. В этом случае вы могли наблюдать ошибку «Error 1310». На всякий случай убедитесь, что к папке КУДА вы инсталлируете софт также есть все права.

Если вы используете шифрование папок, то отключите его для указанных мной папок. Дело в том, что хотя мы сами имеем к ним доступ, служба Microsoft Installer не может до них достучаться пока они зашифрованы.

Ещё ошибка может быть связана с битым файлом. Может быть он не полностью скачался или оказался битым уже на сервере. Попробуйте скачать его ещё раз оттуда же или лучше с другого места.

Ошибка установщика Windows

В случае общих проблем не будут устанавливаться никакие msi файлы, процесс установки, скорее всего, даже не начнётся. При этом могут появляться ошибки вида:

или ещё нечто подобное со словами «ошибка msi», «Windows Installer Error». Всё это означает, что система дала сбой и теперь её надо лечить. Может вы ставили какой-то софт, который испортил системные файлы и реестр, или подхватили вирус. Конечно, никогда не будет лишним удалить вирусы, или убедиться что их нет. Но оставьте этот вариант на потом, т.к. обычно проблема кроется в другом.

Сначала давайте проверим работает ли служба Windows Installer:

Следующее что я посоветую сделать – это выполнить команду сканирования системы на повреждённые и изменённые системные файлы. Нажмите «Win + R» и введите

Sfc /scannow

Произойдёт поиск и замена испорченных файлов на оригинальные, при этом может потребоваться вставить установочный диск с Windows XP-7-10. После окончания процесса перегрузитесь и посмотрите, решена ли проблема.

Microsoft сам предлагает утилиту, призванную решить нашу проблему. Запустите программу Easy Fix и следуйте мастеру.

Параметры реестра и службы

Следующий способ устранения ошибки – восстановление рабочих параметров в реестре установщика Windows Installer.

Для этого скачайте архив и запустите оттуда два reg-файла, соответственно своей версии Windows. Согласитесь с импортом настроек.

В Windows XP или Windows Server 2000 установите последнюю версию установщика 4.5.

Если не помогло, то проделайте ещё перерегистрацию компонентов:

Если пишет, что не хватает прав, то нужно запускать командную строку от имени Администратора.

Если команды выполнились, но не помогло, то скачайте файл и запустите msi_error.bat из архива, проверьте результат.

Последний вариант — скачайте программу Kerish Doctor, почитайте мою статью, там есть функция исправления работы службы установщика и многих других частых проблем Windows.

Подведение итогов

Ошибки с установщиком Windows очень неприятные, их много и сразу непонятно куда копать. Одно ясно – система дала сбой и нужно восстанавливать её до рабочего состояния. Иногда ничего не помогает и приходится переустанавливать Windows. Однако не торопитесь это делать, попробуйте попросить помощи на этом форуме. В точности опишите вашу проблему, расскажите что вы уже делали, какие сообщения получили, и, возможно, вам помогут! Ведь мир не без добрых людей 🙂
